  • Ray Whitehouse

    DIRECTOR / DP

    Ray Whitehouse (he/him) works at the intersection of documentary film and journalism. After growing up in Chicago, he lived in San Antonio, Texas, before moving to Washington, D.C. He served as the second unit director of photography on TO THE END, directed by Rachel Lears, which premiered at Sundance in 2022. BRING THEM HOME, a documentary short he co-directed and DP’d, premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in 2022.
    He’s worked as a cinematographer on more than 20 documentary features and filmed, produced and edited projects for The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME, and Univision, among others. He is community coordinator for the D.C. chapter of Video Consortium and a regional co-chair of the Documentary Producers Alliance. He holds an M.A. in documentary journalism from UNC Chapel Hill and a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University. The core tenets of his practice are transparency, collaboration and critical reflexivity.

  • André Pérez

    PRODUCER

    Andre (he/him) is a latinx educator, filmmaker, and community organizer whose work centers collaborative storytelling with marginalized communities. He founded the Transgender Oral History Project in 2007 and co-founded a home for LGBTQ youth in 2012. Andre recorded 600 interviews with StoryCorps, including 50 broadcasted segments. In 2016, he appeared on NewCity’s 50 Influential Filmmakers in Chicago and helped launch Trans Lifeline. In 2019, he debuted AMERICA IN TRANSITION, a Sundance-backed documentary series following trans people of color. AIT has partnered with colleges, community organizations, and churches to host 60+ screenings, workshops, and keynotes led by trans people of color.

  • Katrina De Vera

    EDITOR

    Katrina (she/her) is a documentary editor based in Austin, TX. She most recently edited the short film, BRING THEM HOME, which was released by The Washington Post, and premiered at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in 2022. Other work includes assistant editing on the feature film, A THOUSAND CUTS, (Sundance 2020, SXSW, DOC NYC,) as well as assisting on the feature, PAHOKEE, (Sundance 2019, SXSW). She has also worked on the PBS series, NOW HEAR THIS, and, STORIES OF THE MIND.

  • PJ Raval

    EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

    Named one of Out Magazine’s “Out 100”, PJ Raval is a queer, first-generation, Filipinx American filmmaker whose documentary work includes CALL HER GANDA (POV, 2020 “Excellence in Documentary” NLGJA Association of LGBTQ Journalists), BEFORE YOU KNOW IT (PBS) and TRINIDAD (Showtime). PJ is a Guggenheim Fellow, A Soros Justice Fellow, and a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

  • Monique Gabriela Curnen

    EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

    Monique Gabriela Curnen (she/her) is an actor and producer known for her work in a string of critical successes including Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden’s HALF NELSON, Christopher Nolan's THE DARK KNIGHT, and Steven Soderbergh's CONTAGION. In television, Monique has appeared in Noah Hawley’s comedic drama "The Unusuals” on ABC, the FOX drama “Lie to Me" opposite Tim Roth, the Netflix hit “Away” opposite Hilary Swank, and the STARZ fan favorites “Power” and "GHOST: Powerbook II." She independently produced the short films “Absent,” examining the ripple effects of gun violence in a young teen’s life; and “Noël,” a glimpse of intimate honesty between strangers in an emergency room.

    Monique is a Tribeca All Access Alum and a Film Independent Fellow (Producers Lab and Fast Track). In addition to her work in entertainment, she volunteers with the voter education and empowerment group Senate Circle.

  • Zander Cole Karlin

    ASSOCIATE PRODUCER / ASSISTANT EDITOR

    Zander (they/them) is a non-binary creator, producer, and kirtan singer. They were a post-production assistant on THE FIRST STEP. Working in collaboration with the Sacred Community Project, Zander is the director and host of the BABY TEETH PODCAST, which lies at the intersection of media generation, eternal wisdom, and loving awareness. They hold a B.F.A. in Film from Purchase College at SUNY.

  • Nicolas Repetto

    Nicolas Repetto (he/him) is an Argentinian-American television and film composer who has uplifted many projects with his diverse scores. He has scored numerous films and projects, such as The Sound of Identity, The Reunion, Tijuana, The American Question, Empire Queen: The Golden Age of Magic, and Spider.

    Nicolas’ music is a blend of Argentinian/Latin/world influences, classical training, electronics sensibility, and modern film and television soundtracks. He had the great opportunity to conduct a 60-piece orchestra at 21st Century Foxunder the tutelage of acclaimed composer Richard Bellis (“It”). He resides in Los Angeles with his husband and their two dogs, Benji and Gypsy.

    Lou Weaver is a queer transgender man and a leader in Houston’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community.

  • Daye Pope

    Daye Pope (she/her/hers) is a gender justice advocate with over a decade of experience organizing trans and nonbinary communities and helping elect progressive trans candidates to public office across the country. In her current role as Director of Civic Engagement with TAKE, Daye works with grassroots trans leaders to mobilize opposition to anti-trans attacks and develop the leadership of everyday trans folks and our allies.
